It is now 9:00 p.m. We have been on the golf course for almost 12 hours total today! 36 holes today and still 18 more to go tomorrow. Most people would say that is too much but it is exactly what we wakeup for each day. Today was a beautiful 75 degrees and sunny in Turlock, CA. We got up at 5:30 this morning, were at the course by 6:45, and played from 8:00-6:45 in the evening.
Having enough energy to play the second day and getting homework done are the biggest challenges at this point. People do not understand how tiring mentally and physically the schedule is for golfers in college. These trips give us very little downtime, spending so many hours on the course, but they will soon be over for me and I am really starting to realize how great of an opportunity this college golf experience has been. There is no challenge like being out on the course for that long, with so many different ups and downs happening throughout the day.
Today was one of the better days for the team, we had an excellent second round, shooting 4 under par for one of our best team rounds at this event all time was great. Day one is only half of the battle, hopefully tomorrow we can use this momentum and earn a solid finish at the tournament!
