SPU 2016 Social Venture Plan Competition

Wow time has flown by! I have been meaning to write about our results in the competition for a few days now.

My Partner, Nathan Murphy and I both had an awesome opportunity of being in Seattle this past week, presenting our business plan for Solar Versatility to a panel of judges and students at SPU. It was something I will never forget, and another great opportunity to learn more about the potential of Solar Versatility.

Going into the competition, preparations were ridiculous. My mom helped us revamp our poster board to look more clean, checking and re-checking our facts, creating charts and brochures right up to the last minute. It was exciting, both Nate and I were really anxious about the chance to compete, and we had a great mindset going into the day. In the past several weeks, we have been really striving to make the most out of our chance to get investment at the event.

The competition room was fairly good size, crammed in with 25 other teams and almost 100 judges, the room quickly shrunk and got pretty crazy. Most of the other teams at the competition had five members, so only having two of us, it was constant movement and discussion with students and judges! We had a lot of valuable feedback from the judges regarding our product and how we are wanting to set up the business. Many of the judges reached out and wanted to keep in contact to see where we could go with the business.

Moving forward, Nathan and I are trying to finish out the school year and really get a good game plan of what our timeline is moving forward. More to come regarding Solar Versatility soon!

Cheers
